Champions League
Liverpool lost at home for the first time in over a year but still advanced on aggregate in their Champions League tie with Inter Milan. The Reds lost 1-0 at Anfield but move on due to their 2-0 first leg victory in Italy. A red card assessed to former Arsenal and Manchester United player Alexis Sanchez in the 63rd minute dashed momentum which was building for the Italians after a Lautaro Martinez goal just two minutes earlier. Liverpool was relieved to escape a frustrating afternoon where Mohamed Salah twice hit the woodwork with attempts. Manchester City played to a goalless draw at the Etihad versus Sporting Lisbon. The Citizens move on to the next round because of their resounding 5-0 first leg win in Portugal.
Europa League
West Ham kept hope alive, losing by a single goal at Sevilla. The 1-0 margin gives the Hammers a shot at advancement when the clubs resume their tie at London Stadium. A faltering West Ham attack, however, will likely need Jarrod Bowen back fit to threaten the Spaniards in London.
Europa Conference League
Leicester have now won four consecutive matches across all competitions after a 2-0 victory over Rennes. Marc Albrighton provided a first half lead for the Foxes who could finally breathe easily after a 93rd minute clincher by Kelechi Iheanacho.
