Champions League
The Champions League resumes with the third stage of group play on Tuesday. Liverpool travels to Atletico Madrid to face the club which eliminated the Reds in the knockout stage of the competition two years ago. Manchester City, meanwhile, should theoretically have an easier time of it when the Citizens travel to face Belgian side Brugge. Surprisingly, though, Brugge drew with powerful PSG back in September and remained unbeaten in the group with a victory over RB Leipzig. Manchester United will be tested on Wednesday when they host Italian club Atalanta, unbeaten in Champions League group play and currently sixth in the Serie A table. The Red Devils have been in poor form, losing four of their last seven matches across all competitions. Despite the most recent victory over Villareal, Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has lost seven of his twelve Champions League matches as Manchester United manager, the worst Champions League losing percentage of any English club manager with at least 10 appearances in the competition. Chelsea is at Stamford Bridge Wednesday to face Swedish side Malmo which has yet to score in losing their first two group matches. Chelsea looks to rebound after their defeat last time out to Juventus.
Europa and Conference League
Leicester travels to face Spartak Moscow in a rare Wednesday Europa League match. The Foxes have yet to win after their first two group stage matches. West Ham, meanwhile, is looking for a third consecutive group win when they host Genk on Thursday. Also on Thursday, Tottenham Hotspur goes to Vitesse in Europa Conference League play.
