Champions League
Champions League group play resumes on Tuesday with Manchester City traveling to PSG and Liverpool visiting Porto. Manchester City were dominant in a 6-3 demolition of RB Leipzig in their opening match and face a French side which shockingly drew with Club Brugge in their opener and have Lionel Messi nursing a bruised knee. Liverpool secured a home win over AC Milan in their opener while Porto impressively managed a goalless draw with Atletico Madrid. Manchester United is already facing pressure when they host Villareal on Wednesday. The Red Devils have lost three of their last four matches across all competitions, including their opening Champions League group stage defeat to Young Boys of Switzerland. United is also facing in Villareal the club which defeated them in the Europa League final last season. Villareal drew with Atalanta in their opening group stage match. Chelsea plays at Juventus which will be without injured attackers Alvaro Morata and Paolo Dybala. Chelsea and Juventus were victors in opening group matches against Zenit and Malmo, respectively.
Leicester City travel to Legia Warsaw for their Europa League match. The Foxes drew with Napoli, winners of all six of their Serie A matches this season, in their group stage opener while Thursday’s Polish opponents were 1-0 winners over Spartak Moscow. West Ham, 2-0 winners over Dinamo Zagreb in their first group game, host Rapid Wien. The Austrian side fell 1-0 to Genk in their last Europa outing. The Europa Conference League schedule, meanwhile, will see Tottenham Hotspur play the Slovenian side NS Mur.
